In the month of May, Melanin Moments had a more personal touch than you might be used to.
Less educational, more from the heart. But that is just as important.
Because I am my brand. And my story runs like a thread through everything I create.

Melplexion is not just a company. It is built on belief, culture, prayer and love.
And this month I wanted to help you get a little closer to that.

Today, the day before my 29th birthday (something I am extremely grateful to the Lord for 🙏🏾),
I conclude this personal series with a moment of reflection.
Because if there's one thing I've learned in all these years of entrepreneurship, it's this:
You as a reader, customer, follower or supporter — you are more than you think.

So this time it's not about everything I knew.
But for what I learned from you .
From the questions you asked.
The stories you shared.
The steps you dared to take in the treatment chair or at home, in front of the mirror.

1. Melplexion was really necessary
So many of you have told me, “I've been looking for this. For years.”
And I feel it.
So many people walked around with insecurities about their skin, or with the thought that they just had to “accept” that there was nothing out there for them.
That still affects me.
Because your skin shouldn't be complicated. Not too "difficult". Not to forget.
The relief I see in customers, the feeling of finally coming home…
That's why I know: this was necessary. This is necessary. And we've only just begun.

2. Education is key
What surprised me — and at the same time confirmed what I already suspected — is that there is still so much misinformation about melanin-rich skin.
Sometimes it's the simple things, like using SPF, that turn out to be new to many people in our community.
Not because they are stupid. But because they never learned.
Because no one told them, in a way that suited them.
At Melplexion we want to do much more with this.
Education. In simple, clear language. From care, not from shame.
Because knowing = caring. And caring = loving.

3. The melanin-rich skin is a work of art
What I learned from you guys is that there is no such thing as “one type” of melanin skin.
You have shown me how versatile, vibrant, sensitive and powerful our skin can be.
Melplexion, and especially The Melanin Clinic, has allowed me to learn even more about the science behind our skin.
About cell renewal. Pigment shift. Hydration.
But also about the emotional side.
About what it feels like to learn to understand and care for your own skin.
That's not a routine. That's a form of coming home.

4. We've only just begun
Sometimes it seems like Melplexion has been around for quite some years.
But the truth is, we're still at the beginning.
We build. We collect data. We train. We refine.
We are listening.
This brand grows with what you show us.
And what we build, we build firmly.
Not fast, but deep. Not fleeting, but lasting.
We want to become the standard for melanin-rich skin care.
Not by shouting. But by doing, and continuing to learn.

In June we will return to the educational side. But now I will first take a small birthday break to reflect on where we are — and especially: what we can go deeper into.
