The final days of the year always feel different. As if time softens. As if space opens up not only to look back, but also to gently sense what lies ahead. Not with urgency, but with intention.

While the previous Melanin Moment focused mainly on what this year has taught me, I want to use this last one of the year to share what I am carrying forward. And perhaps even more importantly, what I want to continue giving.

One thing has become unmistakably clear to me this year. Sharing knowledge is not secondary. It is the foundation.

The more I worked with melanin rich skin, the clearer it became that results do not come from treatments or products alone. They emerge when someone understands what is happening within her skin. When knowledge replaces uncertainty. When insight creates calm.

I see it again and again. The moment someone understands why her skin reacts the way it does, everything shifts. Expectations become more realistic. Choices become more intentional. Not because everything is suddenly resolved, but because there is space to listen.

And that is exactly where a meaningful shift has taken place for me.

Where I spent many years primarily working in the treatment room, I now feel an increasingly strong desire to do more in the area of education alongside that work. To not only apply knowledge, but to make it accessible. Clear. Understandable. Without judgment.

Not so that you become dependent on me. But so that you grow stronger in what you know. So that you learn to recognize what your skin needs. And why.

I am increasingly convinced that everyone deserves to become her own skin specialist. Not by trying to solve everything alone, but by understanding what you see, feel and experience. By asking better questions. By making choices rooted in knowledge rather than doubt.

What touches me most is how these Melanin Moments have grown along with that vision. What started as a way to share my thoughts has evolved into a place of connection. Of recognition. Of trust. Your responses, stories and questions show me that this goes beyond content. This is community.

For me, the new year does not call for doing more, but for choosing more consciously. For listening instead of forcing. And for knowledge that helps you understand what your skin needs, rather than trying to correct it.

That is what I am carrying forward.
And that is what I want to continue sharing.

Before I close, one more thing. Behind the scenes, I am working on something I have poured a great deal of care and attention into. Something designed to help you understand your melanin rich skin even better. I will share more about this in early January.
